Each year a SuperStar emerges
within Gateway Chorus. These stars shine brightly and offer much
to Chorus life for Gateway members. |

Many years ago, Gateway adopted the INUKSHUK as a
symbol of the philosophy
of Gateway.
The INUKSHUK is - A directional marker to guide those who follow
- a symbol of friendship. In 2004, as a newly elected President
of Gateway, Judy Traynor decided to make this symbol a more
prominent part of chorus life. A trophy was created which is
presented every year to the "Spirit of Gateway SuperStar" member
who exemplifies all the best qualities of membership.
The chorus members submit nominations in writing, stating why
they think their nominee deserves the award. The winner is
decided by the past winners. The winner is announced at the
Installation Dinner and receives a small replica trophy and in
exempt from camp fees as well as being a guest at the Christmas
dinner and the Installation dinner. The winner is also Gateway's
nominee for the Regional "Spirit of 26 Award" announced each
year at Region 26 Spring Competition. Her name is added to the
trophy along with the past "SuperStars".
